Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) is a non-profit, public radio station that offers classical music to its fans. A wide range of classical music tracks from a library of over 50000 CDs is provided by MPR via a statewide network of 37 stations.

The Minnesota Public Radio team includes among others Julie Amacher, John Birge, Scott Blankenship, Bob Christiansen, Jeff Esworthy, Ward Jacobson, Valerie Kahler, Gillian Martin, Bill Morelock, Mindy Ratner, Steve Staruch, Alison Young, and John Zech are DJs more focused on providing classical music. With MPR as your companion, you can now listen to “BBC Proms” by Brian Newhouse bringing an outstanding mix of classical favorites and premiere performances by the world's great orchestras. Catch “Composers Datebook” with John Zech, a two minute show where composers of yester years are linked with news of today’s living composers giving an ironic comparison. Listeners also have the opportunity to request for their favorite classical music through the “Friday Favorites” by Steve Staruch. “Harmonia” with Angela Mariani is yet another radio program where you can hear rare and historically important early music recordings from a unique collection of commercial, private, and archived material. For the more information seeking minds tuning in, MPR has an interactive session with “The Metropolitan Opera” that includes essays and discussions on the day's opera, artist interviews and roundtables, and quizzes. Brian Newhouse also brings “Minnesota Orchestra”, the recorded live in concert at Orchestra Hall.

For the younger crowd who like to be up to date with the latest hits MPR has “New Classical Tracks” with Julie Amacher and “The New Releases” with Michael Barone. “Open Air” by Bill Morelock is featured weekly where you can catch some legendary classical music spiced up with thematic programs for holidays and commemorative occasions.
