Independent and listener supported, KPOO broadcasts 24 hours a day on 160 watts, with a radiated power of 270 watts, covering San Francisco, Oakland, and the Bay Area. Part of the passion of KPOO is reserved exclusively for lower income families and the impoverished in the area. With a heavy concern for the community and its citizens, KPOO is a radio station that takes its social role seriously. Founded by Poor People's Radio, Inc., KPOO's ongoing mission has been to open the airwaves to the disenfranchised and underserved. By keeping this mission statement at the forefront, the good people at KPOO radio have truly blessed the neighborhood and continue to do so throughout the San Francisco and Oakland areas.
