90s Pop Music

Songs of the Nineties:
In ’94, you had “Creep”, the next year you had “Waterfalls”, in ’97 you had “Always be My Baby” and “Wannabe”, and you had “You Were Meant For Me”. In ’98, you had “Believe”, “Ray of Light”, and “The Boy is Mine”. Following in ’99, you had “Angel of Mine”, “Baby One More Time” along with “Have You Ever”.

The film and music industries, following-up on the eighties positive effects, continued to scratch each other’s back during this decade, including the pop songs that were included in the movie soundtracks and then releasing the songs as singles. The defining hits that pertain to this genre of music includes: Pretty Woman’s ’90 “It Must Have Been Love”, New Jack City’s “I Wanna Sex You Up” and Robin Hood’s well known Prince of Thieves “I Do It For You”.

Soundtracks and the Nineties :
Also included in the mix was Boomerang’s “End of the Road” and The Bodyguards “I Will Always Love You”, both of which were released in ’92. The following year, Silver’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” and Dangerous Mind’s “Gangsta’s Paradise” were released. During ’95, you had Batman Forever’s “Kiss from a Rose” and in ’98, you have Titanic’s “My Heart Will Go On”.

Truly, in the nineties, pop music became international, with hits coming all different ways from distant and diverse locations, such as Germany’s release of “The Power” in ’90, “Rhythm Is a Dancer” in ’92 and “Mr. Vain” in ’93. In the United Kingdom, you had the release of “The One and Only” in ’91, “Ebeneezer Goode” in ’92, “Things Can Only Get Better” in ’94 as well as “Love Is All Around”. In ’96, you had the release of Spain’s “Macarena” and in ’98, you had the release of “Blue” from Italy.

In ’98, the Netherlands released “Boom Boom Boom Boom”, in ’94, Australia released “Confide in Me”, in ’97 Australia released “Torn” and in ’98 Australia released “Truly Madly Deeply”. All in all, the years may have changed but all pop music still had the same appeal to all of its listeners - it was enjoyable to the ears and comforting to the soul.
