Ska Bands

Great Ska Bands:
Since there are many great Ska bands, we will just need to look at some few of the Ska bands that made history and helped to keep the tradition of this great music genre.

The Dance Hall Crashers: This was a Ska band based in California, This group had a series of problems in their formation but still stood strong with few additions to the group. Dance Hall Crashers released albums that made it through like “Lockjaw” 1995 and “Honey I’m Homely” in 1996.

Mighty Mighty Bosstones:  This group contributed highly to the rise of the Ska music in the mid to late 1990s. One of their major successes with Ska was to mix Ska, high energy punk and heavy metal music types thereby shifting the music more towards party tunes. Though they did not really have an early commercial success but the break through came in 1997 with their hit “The Impression That I Get”.

These two above was only mentioned because of the fact that Ska music, just like any other music is not played by a single band alone but different bands with their uniqueness in style. So in the real sense, most Ska bands have enjoyed their own different monopoly of audiences both generally and privately.

Other Ska Bands:
These are some of the other Ska Bands and they are all worthy of attention as there are so many in the game. Some of the Bands that play the Ska music genre so passionately include The Agents, Beat Soup, Big Lick, Big D And the Kids Table, Dow Jones and the industrials, Gold Finger, Hepcat. And many more.

Other smaller Ska Music Bands have been playing away the Ska tunes in clubs, pubs, private places and also holding gigs for decades but haven’t had a record breakthrough and so are yet to be known world wide. New Ska music bands have continued to take inspiration from the old masters in the game and thereby making this music live through generations. These bands have played this music with love and passion and have continued to uphold the tradition of this music type that is said to have originated from Jamaica.
