Lee Roy Abernathy was born on the 13th of August,’13 and died on the 25th of May ’93, he was a composer and an American vocalist. He was born within Canton, Georgia into a family of sharecroppers that relocated frequently during his early teen years. He started singing around five years of age in the Atco Quartet which was his father’s group. He learned to play the piano at the age of fourteen. Not only did he sit under the shape note instructors like Adger Pace and James D. Vaughan, he also studied in Atlanta, Georgia at the Conservatory of Music. Faye Adams: Faye Adams who was born Faye Tuell is listed as a vocalist in America. Faye is the daughter of David Tuell as well as a key figure among the COGIC and a gospel singer. When she was five she joined up with her sisters in order to sing spirituals, she made regular appearance on the Newark radio shows. She was born in Newark, New Jersey which is located within the United States. Oleta Adams: Oleta Adams was born on May 4th, ’62 in Seattle Washington. After she graduated from the Texas Southern University, she started a career as a part-time model and schoolteacher within Texas in Houston. As time passed, she eventually gave up her teaching in order to be a full-time lead singer. Mary Alessi: Mary Alessi is a worship leader and a Christian songwriter. She was the daughter of evangelists. Mary along with Martha Munizzi, her twin sister were born in Florida within Lakeland however, they were raised traveling all around the United States. Martha, Mary and Marvelyne, their older sisters were born with the natural talent of their parents for music and they became a special part of the traveling group when they were just kids.
