Country Gospel

Country gospel music is performed and composed for several different purposes, which range from religious, aesthetic pleasure and ceremonial purposes or either as an entertainment product that is in place for the actual marketplace. Among the common themes of Christian music is worship, praise or thanks to God.

Country gospel music has cultural origins during the mid twentieth century by the artists of secular country music and the acts of Southern Gospel. The typical instruments of country gospel are acoustic guitars originally but it now features drums, the piano, as well as several other instruments. The mainstream popularity of country gospel was popularized through some artists of secular music like Loretta Lynn, Tennessee Ernie Ford, as well as Dolly Parton. The Christian artists like David L Cook, Del Way and Dottie Rambo along side of Carroll Roberson and the shows like Hee Haw and Grand Old Opry are all part of country music’s mainstream popularity.

Origins of Country Gospel Music:
For generations, country gospel music has been making its presence felt. Country gospel music originated as a certain blend of early mountain music, plantation music and cowboy music of the Deep South. Out of this particular music blend, Southern Gospel music arose and was primarily found within the southern states. Christian country music today has blended with a brand new music referred to as Positive Christian Country Music. This music has a tendency of dealing with all of life’s problems and God’s answers to all of these problems, and it doesn’t actually sound like the past’s religious music.

This music genre has attracted some extraordinary quality and talent within its production, which thereby makes it palatable to the ears of the un-churched who like today’s country music sound. It had became a tool that was used for evangelism all over the world and there were many different churches that sprung up all around the country with this music genre being their main format for music. All of these churches are known as Cowboy churches.

Country Gospel Artists:
There are many different artists of secular country music that have recorded songs pertaining to country gospel music or have actually performed them on their television and radio programs. Tennessee Ernie Ford had been known for including all of these different types of songs in his television show weekly which in turn became one segment that was most successful.
